Researchers in the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences in the School of Public Health at the University of Washington (UW DEOHS) are committed to the protection of human health and safety through the study of human health and the environment. The department has a rich history of investigation of the health effects of air pollution at the local, national and international levels. The array of expertise in the department includes measurement of ambient exposure levels, lab-based techniques to identify chemical compounds in collected samples, and the analysis of epidemiologic data to determine the relation between air pollution exposures and health-related outcomes.
